Neighborly Love Notes

During this time of social distancing, we’re collecting neighborly love notes to stay connected to each other.

“Dear neighbor,

Times are strange and difficult right now, and I am scared for an uncertain future. But the one thing I do know is that we are stronger together, and I can always count on knowing that we will step up to meet challenges with resiliency and love. Know that just getting through another day is a victory– I’m glad you’re here.”

“Hello neighbor,

I’m embracing you with my eyes and heart while staying 10 feet apart.”

“Hi neighbor,

Hello there friend. How have you been in these last six weeks? How is your health? Is your family okay? Well, today I thought of you. Today I am remembering you and your family.

I remember seeing you walk by on your way to work. I see you drive by each day on your way to work. I remember thinking I would probably see you later in the day when we cross paths again.

Well, we have not seen each other in a while. If you are anything like me, you are probably feeling very lonely by now. That’s why I thought I will just say hi, and let you know that I remember you.

I am thinking of you today, and tomorrow, and the next day.

We stay within the walls of our homes and tents, separated from each other, but ultimately we are actually taking care of each other.

Even though we are not able to sit together to break bread or toast each other’s achievements in person, we can still celebrate the fact that we are not alone.

We stand separated so we can have the chance to embrace each other again.

We remember those who did not make it through this pandemic. We pray for their loved ones and family. We remember that we are never alone. We are all in this together.

Let’s continue to think of each other. Let’s do whatever we can to take care of each other. Let’s continue to be kind and helpful.

Be loving and be cheerful. Let’s make each other smile for tomorrow is a new day. A new moment we can celebrate who we are as citizens of this world. Guardians of each other. PEACE!!!” – L.A.

“Dear neighbor,

This time of social distancing affirms just how connected we are to each other. While we are apart, we continue to live each moment together on this ‘Pale Blue Dot’ with the sun shining down on us all. Thank you for being resilient, thank you for adding your vibrancy, fullness, and joy to life in each moment, just by being you. Until we meet again, wishing you good health and peace.”

“Dear neighbor,

‘When ‘I’ is replaced by ‘we’, even illness becomes wellness.’

In this time, physical distancing is critically important. But I hope this note helps bridge the social distance – because, truly, none of us are alone right now in this experience, and we all stand to gain so much by coming together with our neighbors near and far, in illness and in wellness.

I hope that today you feel some hope (even the littlest tiniest bit) knowing that your neighbors in humanity are with you on this journey.”

“Hey neighbors,

Two things I know for sure:
1) This time is difficult and challenging.
2) Together, we can overcome challenging obstacles and achieve inspiring things.
Know that you are my brothers and sisters in humanity and I am sending you love and support.”

“Dear Neighbor,
You are worth knowing, you are worth loving, you are worth being in this world.”
