Week 1: Building Trust & Community
One of JOIN’s core principles is building relationships and community. Outreach workers do this day in and day out – connecting with our neighbors who are sleeping outside and living in precarious situations. They show up not just to talk about housing, but to be a source of support. Outreach workers build community with our friends for many months – sometimes years – bringing critical survival gear, ways to keep warm, and in some cases providing respite from harsh conditions. While doing so, they are authentically connecting with our neighbors on a person-to-person level. It is through a steady pattern of showing up that JOIN works to build trust as the foundation of a journey to housing together.
When you give to JOIN, you’re not only giving to change someone’s situation, but also to build trust and connection. Today, consider a gift that is meaningful to you to help build community with us.
You’ll notice in the header above that we named this “Week 1.” To help celebrate thirty-years, partner volunteer-fundraisers across the city are connecting with friends and colleagues to help us reach a goal of $115,000 by October 31st! Over the next several weeks, you’ll receive highlights about JOIN programs. See below to learn how you can be involved too!
Help us celebrate with your own fundraising page and a chance to win a riverfront log cabin getaway!
